Adoption Assistance
Adoption Assistance provides financial assistance or reimbursement up to or in the amount of $5,000 for certain expenses related to the adoption of a child. Assistance may be provided for adoption-related expenses such as adoption agency fees, legal fees, maternity fees for the birth mother, placement fees, foreign adoption fees, and transportation or travel expenses directly related to the adoption. Regular full-time and part-time employees (working over 21 hours) are eligible for Adoption Assistance if they have been employed by the company for at least one year.
This policy pertains to adoptions in which the child is younger than 18 (or age 23 if a special needs child); and the employee’s spouse/spousal equivalent is not the child’s parent. Payment will be made once the adoption process is complete and the child has been placed with the employee.
